Clearing Up Common Misconceptions about Eyelash Extensions

You’ve undoubtedly heard at least one person tell a dramatic story about her experience with eyelash extensions in Singapore. Read up if you’ve been putting off getting extensions because of what you’ve heard. Unfortunately, you’ve probably fallen prey to one of the countless extension misconceptions.

Myth #1. Eyelash extensions are harmful to your lashes.

Fact: No, they do not harm your natural lashes.

This is probably one of the most common myths concerning eyelash extensions, so let’s clear it up first.

When performed correctly, eyelash extensions will not only look wonderful but will also have no effect on your natural lashes. It all comes down to hiring a skilled lash stylist who knows how to apply the extensions skillfully. If the lashes are too long or thick, they may fall out prematurely, taking part of your natural lashes with them.

Another typical problem? There’s much too much glue. Since eyelash extensions are bonded to your natural lashes, applying too much glue on them might cause your regular lashes to fall out along with the extensions.

Myth #2. Eyelash extensions are unpleasant and uncomfortable.

Fact: A lot of individuals do take naps during the treatment. You probably will too.

So many beauty procedures are really painful. So this one had to be, too, right? Thankfully, that is not the case here.

The procedure is lengthy (approximately 1.5 to 2 hours on average), but it is not harmful. While the lash stylist works their magic, some individuals slumber, listen to music, or listen to podcasts.

Myth #3. You can’t wash your face if you have eyelashes.

Fact: We recommend washing your face and keeping your extensions clean.

Water and facial cleansers are definitely out because of the delicacy of the attached lashes.

We recommend that you maintain your extensions clean. In fact, doing so will keep your lashes appearing youthful and healthy. That being said, you’ll want to be more careful with your stuff. To achieve the most excellent results:

  1. Use a face cleanser that is extension-friendly.
  2. Avoid using any oil-based cleansers or makeup removers.
  3. Do not massage too hard!

Myth #4. When you’re ready, just pick them off.

Fact: This is not encouraged. At least, not unless you want to harm your hair follicles.

Many people might think to themselves, “I can just peel them off like artificial lashes when I’m bored of them, right?”

Wrong!

Lash extensions and drugstore artificial lashes are two very distinct goods with quite different removal methods. Pulling them out oneself may harm hair follicles, and hair will no longer develop once damaged. So, unless you want to lose your natural lashes permanently, go to your stylist and get them removed SAFELY with the proper treatments.
